About Artist - Fionnuala Duffin
I am a visual artist, impressionistic painter, multidisciplinary creator and creative arts facilitator based in my garden studio near Strangford Lough County Down.
My work draws inspiration from the rich cultural heritage of Irish mythology, entwined with my love of birds. In blending the beauty of birds with the wonder of myths my work connects the past and present, nature and imagination, giving my work an authentic vibrant feel. I invite viewers to see the world through an enchanting new lens of imagination and folklore. My imagination and love of fantasy is why I was selected 2 years in a row to create an installation for Ireland’s largest festival Electric Picnic attended by 85,000 revellers and bringing my work to a new and ever expanding audience.
My art work has been shown in various galleries throughout N.Ireland and resides in many private collections worldwide. My group facilitation work is displayed in many community centres walls inside and out throughout N.Ireland. My Elmer sculpture painted for the NI Hospice ‘Elmer’s Big Trail’ event was exhibited for over 3 months in the prime location of Belfast city centre and viewed by thousands, eventually auctioned and raised over £3,000 for the charity.
